Today was one of those days that was biting cold. I really feel like my ears would have fallen off if I had a slightly longer walk to my office from the metro.
In other news, it seems as though our beloved roommate may have passed on her dear, dear flu bug to us, as my stomach has been trying to escape all day long.
The only other thing that was exciting was the release of OS X Leopard 10.5.2 this evening. I'm glad it's done, but really... talk about a let down. The one thing that most of us were looking for in an OS X update, and it is the one thing that isn't addressed. Apple is good at that though, if they think they can make a buck off of it... screw the end user.
They still make beautiful computers and their sense of design is amazing. As a corporation though, they are as heartless as they come. Microsoft should be elevated to sainthood if you were to compare the two companies ethics and practices while apple would fall somewhere between Jack the Ripper and L. Ron Hubbard.
Ok, thanks for your eyes this evening. I know it's not a great post, but I'm really trying to keep this blog updated and the sick+tired bit is going to win tonight.
Cheers.
Well prototype deadlines ended on friday, being a "prototype" I can't really discuss what the prototype was "of" or what it was "for"... But let's just say that I'm gladthis phase is pretty much over with. So, this is a full weekend of "me... me... me..." I've done just about nothing around the house and have enjoyed it thoroughly.
In other news, the Faux Hawk is growing back (illustrated in photo), after my desperate attempt to remove the annoying hair monster that was growing on top of my skull. I'm sure it will achieve it's full "faux glory" in about 2 weeks.
I would also like to add to this pseudo blog, that rental prices in the DC Metro area, specifically on the Virginia side of the river are absolutely fucking nuts. There is no way I'm spending $3k on a 2 bedroom apartment unless that apartment goes to work for me and calms the executive beasts.
February brings... Tax Return!!!, More apartment hunting for the move in May, code cleanup, more exercise and airplane ticket purchasing for next month. The tax return part was a very pleasant surprise, let me tell you this... if you move across the country, the IRS is your bitch. I got so much more money back because of moving expenses, I can not express to you the internal glow I am currently experiencing. Though, I wouldn't recommend moving across the country simply for the tax break as it doesn't quite work out to your favor that way.
Well, that's all for now kids. Cheers!
Well, time to kill two birds with one stone.
First bird: Actually taking the time to create a post here on Vox.
Second bird: Announcing for those not able or willing to read the title, that I have shaved the beard off.
When the G/F wakes up... this could end badly. lol.
Enjoy some Human Tetris while I go back to work. :)
